Good-Bye For Now...

Have you ever noticed how saying good-bye is one of the hardest things you have to do.  Well.  I'm not saying good-bye forever.  I'm just saying good-bye for now.

The reason I haven't been blogging recently, and I apologize for it, is because I've been thinking and reflecting and deciding.  And I've decided to start a new blog.

I do love this blog, but it's not me.  I thought it was.  But it just isn't.  I think this new blog is going to be more fun and more me.

 The new blog name is Pink and Preppy Perfection!  I hope everyone will check it out!!!

All my love...

Friday Five Faves

I think this has been the longest week in my life!!! And my school week only lasted 3 days!  I broke down crying three times during and after school.  I took test after test. I've learned a lot in the last few days.  I made mistakes, but I learned from them.  And that's all a person can do.  So here are five things that helped me keep some bit of sanity these last few days...

{one: candy}
Oh.  My beloved candy!  If it weren't for candy I definitely would have cried more.  I don't necessarily eat because of the way I feel, but candy always helps a person feel a little happier.  My two favorite candies have to be Skittles and Twix!

{two: hairspray!!!}
I am addicted to this one hairspray from Suave.  It's an aerosol can so it's not really... environmentally-friendly.  I don't like that about it, but it's the best hairspray I've used in a long time!  I think that it doesn't make my hair crunchy, yet it also keeps the curl.  (Which is really good!  Considering my hair hates keeping a curl or wave!)  My mom is getting a few things before my Confirmation tomorrow, and I'm dying to get another bottle because I got my first bottle around Homecoming, and I'm almost out of it!  That's how much I love it!

{three: Avicii}
I'm in love with Avicii!  I love his song "Wake Me Up"!  I literally listened to it three times in one day this past week!  I really am into the instrumentals.  I just think his music is very indie!  And I LUV IT!

{four: Christmas Movies!}
Yes, November starts the Christmas season for the movies on Hallamrk and Lifetime.  My friend Kate and I both have been watching all of the Christmas movies on TV for the past few weekends!  I love he holidays!  So much excitement and anticipation!

{five: Christmas Music!}
To go along with the Christmas Movies, CHRISTMAS MUSIC!  I can't stop singing Christmas music!  I was practicing the music at Choir the other night.  I think it's absolutely cheery and upbeat!  Gotta Love the Holidays!

Are you as excited about the Holidays as I am?
xoxo

PS: Tomorrow is my big Confirmation Ceremonial Mass!  Wish me luck and Pray that the Holy Spirit may come down upon me and my classmates!  I'm soooo excited!  I'm just filled with JOY!

My Choice from the Top 10 Blockbusters! (11/8/2013)

Here are my five favorite movies that are out now ad two bonus movies that are supposedly really good!

1. Last Vegas (R)

2. Gravity (PG-13)

3. Captain Phillips (PG-13)

4. 12 Years a Slave (R)

5. Carrie (R)

I haven't seen any of these movies, but I have heard great reviews from friends about them!  I really want to go see at least one of them before they come out on DVD...  #BucketListIt!

BONUS!

The Book Thief (PG-13)
I have to read the book version for school so seeing it might help me understand the book itself...  My sister, mom, and I all want to see it!  It just looks like a good movie.  I love studying the Holocaust for some reason.

About Time (R)
This is definitely going to be the Chick Flick of the Year!!!!  I can't wait until it is real eased on DVD!  I sooooo want to go see it!  I would need a few boxes of kleenexes, but I have always loved Rachel McAdams.  She is a great actress.  Her love stories are the Best of the Best!

I recommend seeing any of these movies.  If I see any of them anytime soon, I will write a review about them.

Have you seen any of these movies?  Do you want to see any of these movies?
xoxo

Organization 101: Note-taking

So here is another one of my posts about staying organized in school.

As you can tell, I have some crazy messy handwriting when I'm taking notes.  This is actually a picture of my notes from Civilization Class (AKA History).  I technically use any random pen I find in my bag, but I used a Latin Pen the day I was taking these notes.

I usually have to write notes as quickly as possible in my Civ class because my teacher likes to go fast.  I have realized how he teaches after a full semester of  writing as much as possible.  You will probably notice that I write bits and pieces of shorthand when I can.  I don't like writing stuff  out that isn't necessary.

Here's an outline of what my notes look like in most of my classes that are 'Humanities' classes.

Have a great week everyone!!!!

Did this post help you with new ideas on how to take notes?  I'm still experimenting of course, but I'm trying to keep myself from scribbling down stuff like my friends do!

xoxo

Organization 101: Note-taking (Part 2)

Here's Part 2 of my Organization 101 blog posts!  I love writing these because this is what I've been looking for lately on Pinterest and other blogs.  Today I'm going to be talking about different methods of taking notes. I'm going to be focusing on Cornell Notes, Blank Canvas, and Outlining/Paraphrasing.  These are usually the methods I used for studying and taking notes in school.

{Cornell Notes}
Cornell notes usually work for all of my 'Humanities' classes.  But they can work for almost every class.  Here's a link on how to write Cornell Notes...
 http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Lu7WM_fmR1k

{Blank Piece of Paper}
This method is so much more flexible.  A blank piece of paper is a blank canvas for me.  I don't always use a blank sheet of copy paper.  I usually use notebook paper because then it's in with other notes.  It's just easier that way I can refer to it in the future.
With Geometry, I like to list all of my formulas and explain what they are.  Or I'll write a vocabulary term with a drawing next to it so I understand what it means.  It's harder to study for a Geometry test because you have to just know the formulas and know how to solve for answers.  So I like to take problems from my notebook or past assignments and put them in as a reference of how you solve with the formulas I have listed.

{Outlining}
I think I have mentioned this before, but I love just bulletins points and using the standard style of title, subtitle, and notes.  This method works for me.  I can scribble stuff down and still get the meat and potatoes of the topic.  You just have to be able to write down what is necessary and forget about the minor details.  I'm still trying to figure out which is which... ;)

So What Works for You?  Do you have any types or methods of taking notes in school?  Or are you still experimenting?  I'm still experimenting... Any tips or suggestions?
